You spoke and we listened!
We heard from many teachers over the past week that March 19th was not the best date for your induction. We would like to reschedule the Induction at a time when all teachers can attend and enjoy the evening to celebrate a year of teaching. At this time, we will be cancelling our March 19th event. We will be sending you a new event date shortly with further details.
Thank you for your cooperation,

We have achieved a Memorandum of Agreement with our board (the Calgary Roman Catholic Separate School Division). This agreement was achieved after two days of bargaining.
This is a very amicable table with an employer that appreciates the process and has respect for teachers and the Association.
I would also like to thank our Bargaining Unit, consisting of our Negotiating Subcommittee our Bargaining Agent and our Executive Assistant for the time and effort that they put into this very important endeavour.
Details of the agreement are as follows:
• Cancellation of assignment for substitute teachers
• Wellness spending account (effective September 1, 2020)
• Imbedding Professional Improvement Fund (PIF) into the collective agreement
(previously established in a letter of understanding)
• Add second day for adoption leave in all circumstances
• Letter of Understanding to establish committee to determine how unspent monies
allocated to the sabbatical leave clause and the professional improvement fund clause
shall be spent
Our Bargaining Unit General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2020. We are still working to arrange a venue and exact time for this meeting; however, the date of the meeting will be April 2. We will communicate the time and venue for the meeting as soon as we have it booked. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Calgary Catholic Education Foundation’s mission is to raise money that goes back to our schools. 100% of the proceeds that they raise go right back into our schools and classrooms helping us to take our students to Calgary Campus/Open Minds ®, helping us build or replace playgrounds, provide technology as part of the many STEAM projects, allow our students to partake in artist in residence such as Trickster Theatre, support our Social Justice actions such as the 3rd Annual Social Justice Summit, and provide funding to build our faith in our schools with new altars. This year alone, they provided $162,000 in funding to 50 of our schools through 64 grants. They really are our Education Champions and we are so fortunate that they only fundraise for our CCSD.
Their 10th Anniversary Raffle has been extended until Monday, February 24th at 11:59pm MST for online sales. As a community, we have an opportunity to support the differences they make through their grant programs to our students and schools. If you haven’t already done so, please consider purchasing a ticket by credit card for $10 or a book of 3 for $25 at www.theccef.ca/raffle.
A PIF Grand period 1meeting has been confirmed for February 27, 2020. If you have questions regarding PIF, please call the office and speak with Diane.
